I just don't see why ss fans think sasukarin is soo negative. sure he almost killed karin, but he just snapped just like that. if you look closely they balance eachother out pretty well, just like with naruhina.
sasuke needs a girl that will stand up to him and boss him around. not some softy, who blushes and cries, and worries too much over him. sakura is a pile of emotional,crying, love goo when it comes to sasuke (ss fans please don't kill me.) . karin would just turn jittery and lose her focus and anger because well...its SASUKE, like she said: she can't help it. XD sasuke would just down-grade sakura's character, I'm absolutely sure and it would ruin sasuke's character as well. and I'm pretty sure that would irritate the fans even more.

ps. now that I think about it gender bended sasusaku doesn't bother me much at all and its more tolerable than the original sasusaku.
